The game information has not been released yet but I am in contact with the Allied Command staff and they have requested that any teams that are going and planning on going allied register early. A much smaller cap of 3000 is going to be put on the game. Typically they get 4000+ so there will be a lot of people not able to play.

The Red Hawks will be going American of course. If any other teams are going let me know so once the planning starts I can involved your team.

Urban Ops, you guys getting a stand there? There are always tons of vendors selling stuff and with 3000 people that are die hard paintballers all camping out for 2 days you guys are bound to get tons of sales.

^^ LOL

Yeah, we did two events at Skirmish under our old team name/leadership, and that was enough for most of us. I would do smaller scenarios there again, if its about 800 or fewer (preferably a lot fewer), but never again anything 1500 plus. 3000? No freakin way. Plus, I'm still more than a little miffed that I bought 8 cases of paint at stalingrad last year only to have the majority of it turn to soup because somehow Skirmish can't afford to store their paint in a heated garage when they're charging $72-100+ a case for the same paint I can buy locally for less than $40 at a store, or $50 as event paint at Cousins... I've heard they plan on some smaller scenarios capped at like 300-400 players, which I wouldn't mind. Their fields and terrain are awesome I just think the management and planning blows when you get past 600ish players.

Based off that one Stalingrad I couldn't agree with you more....BUT

They really have turned it around, I played at Berlin and this past Stalingrad and they got better refs and have been trying to organize the game better. They utilized platoons to organize walk ons and teams. It worked ok but they are working to get the kinks out. If you get involved with ther general it makes it more fun.

All that being said, nothing compaires to the first 30minutes of ION. I dont care if I am shooting soup out of my gun, storming the beach is insane. When you have 2000 people clashing against 2000 its mayham but the greatest kind. This year it will be a bit smaller more like 1400-1400 due to a smaller cap.

I still would recommend giving them a second chance. A lot of teams got turned off from that Stalingrad a year ago but they have improved since then. Could they still improve in a lot of aspects YES but they do host an amazing event that is ION

How many of you Red Hawks got hit with the riot balls/reballs standing around the guy that got shot in the back of the head with them? I read about it on S.O.

Why is it that Skirmish continues to have problems with reballs, marbles & the like? It's the only place I've ever read about that has such a problem.

Now I remember why we don't play there anymore!

Yea I was literally RIGHT next to the kid that got hit in the head with the reball. He was one of the guys serving in my company. I recently talked to him though and he is doing fine. After he went down me and a couple guys stood in front of him and took a bunch of shots because no one would stop firing and he was out in the open. The guys with swat shields and EMTs got their pretty fast though.

It really has nothing to do with skirmish, its the people that the German vs American attract. For some reason it just insights pure hate. I got my hopper checked 2 times for paint and half the time I didnt have a gun one me. Bottom line any game that big presents the problem for not being able to control the masses.

Anyway enough about the negative aspects on to the positive.

This years game was one of the most organized games I have ever played in. I am talking about the actual game play such as unit organizations and communication. The command staff for the allied side did an AMAZING job. Silence (phil) was as always an outstanding general and the guys in his command post working the radios were bad ass. Roger from the delta raiders made some sick maps to pass out the all the companies which really helped a lot. We met a bunch of awesome teams even. A team called The Desert Edge from utah set up camp next to us, great group of guys.

In terms of game play the red hawks were given the task of commanding a company which consisted of 100+ guys. By the end of the day it dwindled to 30-50 guys but that was to be expected. The majority of our force was made up of spec ops brigade members that rolled together. Top notch players, they listened to everything we said and were out on the field with us the entire day.

Last but definitely not least, the Red Hawks were awarded Allied MVT. It was a great surprise and made the over loss to the Germans a little more bearable.

Congrats on the MVT guys! Glad you had a good time.
It sucks that people have to be stupid enough to do thing like that at games. Theres nothing kool or fun about it, its just pure stupidity!
Anyway glad you had a good time!

I saw here See Post #24 that someone won some reballs at a raffle or something like that. I would think they would ban any sales/giveaways of reballs!
