In addition to the new Straightline Barrel launched yesterday, Tippmann is also announcing at D-Day the launch of a new Pistol to the paintball industry. Because our dealers and core players have been asking for a premium pistol, we feel the opportunity exists for Tippmann to launch a better pistol, using brand new technology that will quickly make it the most sought after pistol on the market. Unfortunately at this time we cannot elaborate much beyond the fact that it will be .68 caliber, lightweight, compact, modifiable and have the Tippmann reliability our customers have come to expect.

At D-Day we will also be giving players an opportunity to sign up for a Sneak Peek email but of course as a Tippmann Dealer you will automatically be updated on a regular basis during the summer months. Although this pistol will not be available until the fall, we are launching at D-Day because we feel we are far enough along with this new technology and that the timing is right to announce an exciting new product to our core group of scenario players.

Tippmann is extremely excited with the initial response of our new products launched this year. The new U.S Army Alpha Black, the updated 98 Custom Platinum Series have surpassed our initial expectations by providing exceptional value to your customers and we feel our entry into this new category will further fuel the growth of paintball with the avid player.

Thanks for your continued support.

Looks an awful lot like the Tac 8. From that "picture", the rear site, body drop down to the barrel and the three bumps on the the front of the grip look the same. Hopefully it comes with a curved trigger, that's one thing I didn't like on my tac8.

Guess we'll have to see!

I refuse to believe it. How on earth are they going to fit the same internals as a 98 into a pistol? ;)

Lord knows its been the way they've invented "new" product for the last decade or so lol.....

been doing some digging, and one of the rumors is that tyler tiberius wants to get out of paintball to focus on the "Less Lethal" side of the tactical business, and that this "new pistol" may, in fact, be a result of him selling the rights to the Tac8 to Tippmann.... Which would make them lame as hell for offering up such a teaser for basically just tweaking and rebadging someone else's turnkey product line...

New news... well, kinda... There is a mentioning by someone "in the know" (supposedly) that this may actually be electo-pneumatic... How, I have no idea. Basically they're still teasing the crap out of people with this. The debut got pushed back to Tippmann World Cup/Challenge or something... anyone know when that is?

Wow it Tib did sold out thats pretty lame. I menat hey tippmann has great gear but I still think its lame that Tib would do that. If they cna fit some electopneumaticness into a pistol....WOW :D hope its a bit smaller to lol. The Tippmann World Cup (from what I know and have heard and have been told ect...) is October 26 and 27. I want to see this bad boy!

I read awhile ago about the electropneumatic operation. Then I believe it was released somewhere by someone from Tippmann that it was not going to be electropneumatic. I'll see if I can find that info again...
